February is a wonderful month for writing! These February-themed prompts are a great way to get students to slow down and think about specific topics. Enjoy the month of February and all it brings with Valentine’s Day, Lunar New Year, Black History Month, Groundhog Day, and Presidents’ Day!

2. Is Groundhog Day an important holiday? Why or why not?
3. Write down all the traditions you know that are associated with Chinese New Year.
4. What is the difference between loving pizza and loving a person? Why do we use the word “love” in both cases?

9. George Washington said “It is better to be alone than in bad company.” What does this mean, and do you agree or disagree?

13. Why is it important to celebrate and embrace diversity in our country?
14. What is the best way express to someone that you care about them?
15. February 24th is national Tortilla Chips Day. If you could create a holiday to celebrate anything you wanted, what would it be?
