Media plays such an important role in our interpretation and understanding of history. The video below, is part of Vox’s Darkroom Series, which explores history through photographs. It’s a fascinating and quick look at how Rosenthal’s famous picture inspired a similar Soviet picture taken in Berlin. The video may or may not be appropriate for your classroom, so give it a watch before deciding to use it in part of your lesson. Nonetheless, it’s just a great watch for history buffs!
